Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho has kept people looking over their shoulders in the shower for more than half of a century! The suspenseful horror film rekindled Hitchcock’s career as a director and solidified the careers of a young Anthony Perkins and Janet Leigh. Loosely based on Robert Bloch’s 1959 novel about the true life serial killer Ed Gein, the film received four Academy Award nominations. This is one of ten films selected by Dr. Robert Knoll for his 1960s film series to be shown from September 2013 to June 1914. He will introduce each film. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library. 109 minutes. Rated R.
