Shimrit TsiporenA passionate explorer of the classical piano repertoire, pianist Shimrit Tsiporen has been involved in several unique projects throughout her career. She has been a founder and a performer in a concert series presenting solo piano, chamber and vocal music of Chopin and Schumann on the occasion of their bicentenaries. Her doctoral studies at the Mason Gross school of the arts has been an encouraging environment for a research project on Debussy’s piano etudes which will be presented during the 2016-17 season in venues throughout the NJ and NY areas. Ms. Tsiporen has performed solo recitals with a great repertoire range which starts with Bach’s Well-tempered clavier and ends with Ben-Haim’s “5 pieces for piano”, a required piece for the 2011 Rubinstein piano competition. Her performances include classical music venues as well as community centers and private house concerts in Israel as well as the USA. An enthusiastic romanticist Shimrit is greatly interested in performing 19th century piano music which encompasses lyricism and expressive content. She frequently performs piano master works by Schumann, Schubert, Chopin, Brahms and Rachmaninov among others. Shimrit has performed nineteenth century chamber and solo recitals during the 2015-16 season.
