NEWS:
The next Friends meeting is on Monday, March 3, 2008 at 7:00 PM. Everyone is welcome!
Please note: The Friends are looking for a place to store and sort books until the next book sale. No book sale date has been set.

The Friends of the Highland Park Public Library play an important role in supporting and promoting excellent library services. The Friends raise funds to sponsor special library programs for the public throughout the year, including Poetry Nights, Technology Nights, Children's Programs, Teen Programs, International Film Nights, concerts and cultural events. The Friends also raise community awareness of the library's resources and stimulate public support for its mission.

The Friends' funding comes primarily from membership, donations and fundraising. The largest fund raising event is the Annual Book Sale.

Here are some of the programs and items funded by the Friends:

  • orange bullet Licenses & Permits
  • orange bullet Poetry Series
  • orange bullet Promotional Pencils
  • orange bullet Technology Programs
  • orange bullet Teen Programs

The Friends offer ample opportunity for community involvement. Chair an activity, work on the book sale, offer experience and ideas, actively advocate for the Library. Check the library calendar for meeting dates and times.

Be a Friend. Join today.
