Seascapes, Landscapes and Abstracts
Benigna Willman started painting at the age of 19 after a severe car accident that left her in a wheel chair for one year.
“It changed the focus of my life,” Benigna said. “I turned to painting and sketching, which have served as my inspiration and strength for over five decades now.”
According to the artist, in each of her paintings she leaves a special detail.
“An old farm scene may include an unfinished snowman or the moon may bring highlight and a unique glow to a nightscape,” Benigna said. “A magnified butterfly wing may serve as a canvas for an abstract.”
The Highland Park artist has taught in her home studio as well as in schools in New Brunswick, Piscataway, East Brunswick and in local nursing homes. Benigna has had solo art shows throughout the north east and south United States.
