Self Portraits by Pine Grove Students
The four year old artists at Pine Grove Cooperative Nursery School have created life size images and their teacher Lolly Schenk photographed their work for the main hall display case. Hair color, faces, and clothing are all subject to the artists’ interpretation.
According to Schenk, who has been a teacher at the cooperative nursery school for more than 15 years, when it comes to art work, process, not product is the goal.
“When preschool children are creating art, they are more interested in how they are working than what the end result will be,” Schenk said. “They are learning by doing.”
