Cynthia Walling is an artist who has the eye of the poet. Her next exhibit, Places I Visited: Large Paintings from Mexico will be on display at the library in October. The Highland Park artist is also bringing a collection of smaller pastel paintings to the library main hall display case in October.
Walling worked for 21 years as a special education and history teacher at Elizabeth High School. She has studied painting in Maine, North Carolina, and Ringling Brothers Summer Art School in Sarasota, Florida. She has exhibited through the area.
Walling donated one of her large outdoor canvases to the library’s reference area.
