Get your child ready to read by sharing books together! 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten is a nationwide challenge to read 1,000 books with your little one before they start kindergarten. What a fun and easy way to get your child ready to learn and read by sharing books together! Get Started Logging your books for 1,000 books before kindergarten is easy! Pick up your paper tracker at the library or download a copy using the link below to print from home.

Each time you complete 100 books, bring your tracker to the Youth Services desk at the library to claim your sticker and a fresh tracking sheet. When you complete your first 100 books, your child will get to add their name to our 1,000 Books display! Every time you complete 100 books, your child will earn another sticker and get to move their name up on the display. When you complete 500 books, your child will earn a half-way prize. Once your child has completed 1,000 books, they will receive a certificate of completion, have their name & photo added the Wall of Fame (photo not required), and receive an invitation to our annual 1,000 Books Completion Party!
