1,000 books before kindergarten FAQ How long will it take to complete the program? This is a self-paced program. If you read just one book a night, you’ll meet your goal in less than 3 years. If you read three books a night, you could reach your goal in just one year! Can we read the same book multiple times? Absolutely! If your child has a favorite book, feel free to count it every time you read it together. When can I enroll my child in 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten? You can enroll your child at birth! It’s never too early to start reading and talking to your child. Or enroll your child any time before they enter Kindergarten. Can I count books that others read to my child, such as grandparents, caregivers, older siblings, etc? Yes! Every book read by everyone counts. Stories heard at storytime count too!
