The Albany St. Bridge Project Artists are hosting an art reception and will also talk about their project and work. The goal of the Albany St. Bridge Project is to cultivate long lasting cross-sector partnerships, working to strengthen the relationship between Highland Park and New Brunswick constituents. It is concentrated on how public spaces have the power to unite people from disparate backgrounds, helping to shine a light on our commonalities. Thirteen local artists are creating works of art engaging with the past and present narrative of these two communities, drawing inspiration from an archive of photographs and background information on the Albany St. Bridge. The gallery of visual art will be accompanied by a commissioned musical piece composed of live recordings from the banks of the Raritan River. Through visual art and music, the project encourages community members to envision a collective future for the Albany St. Bridge and for what it represents.
