She answers an advertisement for a housekeeper. Her employer is Everett (Ethan Hawke), a 40 year old cantankerous bachelor. She is a terrible housekeeper and spends most of her time painting. Over time, she wins his heart. Maud’s determination to paint, along with her partnership with Everett, blossoms into a career as a famous folk artist. Ireland and Canada/English.
