Maxine Susman’s seventh book, My Mother’s Medicine: Poems, about her mother’s life as a doctor, was published in 2019. After a career of teaching English at the college level, she continues to teach poetry writing and literature at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute of Rutgers University, where she earned the Distinguished Teaching Award. Her poems appear in many New Jersey and national journals. She divides her time between New Jersey and Outer Cape Cod.
