Juditha Dowd’s mixed-genre, verse biography Audubon’s Sparrow is forthcoming in April 2020 from Rose Metal Press. Told in the voice of Lucy Bakewell Audubon, the naturalist’s spirited young wife, it follows their adventures along the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers in the early 1800s, a period marked by constant challenge and rapid change. Juditha is also the author of a full-length poetry collection, Mango in Winter, as well as poetry chapbooks, short fiction, and lyric essays. She reads with Cool Women, an ensemble performing in the New York-New Jersey-Philadelphia area and occasionally on the west coast. Q and A and book signing follow the reading.
