Join Maurice J. Elias, Professor of Psychology at Rutgers University who will talk about strategies to raise children with emotional skills, self regulation, problem solving, peer communication, and empathy. Dr. Elias has been involved in Emotional Intelligence strategies for children during the last three decades. Dr. Elias is also Director of the Social-Emotional and Character Development Lab, and Co-Director of the Academy for Social-Emotional Learning in Schools at Rutgers University. He also is a founding member of SEL4US, a national alliance of state social-emotional learning advocacy and implementation support organizations. He has most recently collaborated on the recently published, Students Taking Action Together-Five Teaching Techniques to Cultivate-SC, Civic Engagement, and a Healthy Democracy. This program is part of a series, 100 Years of Learning at the Library.
